DGM Finance – Lebanon Corporate

Position Objective :

The job holder will be responsible for Financial Accounting, Budgeting, Warehouse Coordination, MIS, Legal, General Office Administration, Logistics and IT Operations of the Territory. The job holder will also be responsible for instituting, directing and controlling the financial policies and activities of the Territory.

Responsibilities :

– Work closely with the Concept Head in the formulation of the corporate strategy for the year and finalization of annual targets along with other functional heads to implement the strategic directions

– Formulate financial policies/procedures for the Concept within the framework of the group policies aimed at achieving the business growth and controls and ensure that the Finance Team follows internal control measures to safeguard financial interests

– Review budgets of the Concept and Territory operations monthly and revise allocations if necessary

– Exercise necessary budgetary controls on all costs incurred by the Concept, ensuring that they comply with the drawn budgets

– Review and discuss monthly financial accounts and variances against budget achieving cost control on the controllable expenditures

– Set up controls and procedures for debtors invoices and for monthly cash certificates

– Develop and maintain systems for prompt and accurate collection of financial and accounting information

– Negotiate and review arrangements with local purchase suppliers, non trading material suppliers

– Review the stocks in line with pre decided norms on terms of stocks levels, stock ageing, and slow moving items, to take timely decisions whenever required

– Monitor effectiveness in the entire end to end supply chain process for the Concept

– Help the corporate team in managing and overseeing in-bound and outbound logistics activity

– Liaise with Legal department and coordinate with the local legal offices on legal matters.

– Ensure timely renewal of Trade Licenses / Lease Agreements / Commercial terms with the different authorities, with PR support

– Ensure smooth functioning of operating system, database, application server software and middleware

– Manage the performance of the team – set annual performance goals, monitor performance and provide constructive feedback to improve performance.

– IFRS/ IAS

– ERP, MS Office (Excellent)

– 15+ years post qualification experience in Finance

Job Description
Developing and implementing SOPs to work specifically with The Organization
Assisting in the design of the resorts activities and food and beverage offerings
Hiring of staff across all of the resorts departments, including department heads
Training staff to perform according to our brand standards; this is an especially
challenging responsibility given the local culture and resorts location
Conduct coaching/counseling sessions; performance evaluations; prepares
performance improvement plans, disciplinary documentation; conduct terminations
Overseeing and managing all departments, working closely with department heads on a daily basis
Monitoring customer satisfaction, through review of written feedback, and just as importantly by spending time directly with the guests and ensuring their needs are being met and expectations exceeded
Participate and monitor monthly inventory of supplies and equipment. Ensure purchases made are within budget and from approved vendors
Communicate all policies and procedures to entire staff. Conduct regular meetings to provide various information including company communications, policy reviews, local property activities, goals, etc.
Leading the resort as its brand standard bearer, epitomizing the brand
personality and working consistently to ensure the resort is run impeccably
Maximizing room yield and resort revenue through innovative sales practices
and yield management programs
Establishing monthly, quarterly and annual budgets and meeting and
exceeding revenue projections
Works with Sales & Marketing to manage all Corporate sales activities and relationships
Inspect and document repairs and cleanliness of property to ensure optimum upkeep and repair, room cleanliness and overall property appearance
Desired Profile
A degree in hotel management or a related field
At least 14 years experience in the hotel industry, ideally including experience in remote locations
At least 4 to 5 years of experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager or
equivalent position
Experience managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results
Refined skills in public relations
An interest in living and working on-site in a stunning but isolated location, during a complex and growth oriented phase of the resorts development
Experience at nature resorts and a fondness for nature is a plus
